Kelsey Sullivan is a Boston-bred, internationally recognized playwright, producer, and theatremaker currently based between Massachusetts and the Isle of Mull in Scotland. She loves squishy words, tolerates entropy, and hates dentists.
With all of her work, Sullivan uses her distinctively disgusting voice to not only make her audiences laugh (and groan), but to turn “play” into a verb again for all involved. Her writing has been described by audience members and critics as warm, inclusive, fun, delightful, unsettling, chaotic, and truly downright bonkers - she’s glad to know her goals are coming across in her work. She holds a BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

USA: Pace University’s Degree Showcase, Memoriam Development’s Nightshade Festival and The Spade Collective’s Dealer’s Choice Festival (Stinky Girls); Melacholics Anonymous, The Brick’s ?!:New Works Festival and the Valdez Theatre Conference (Worm Teeth); ImaginariumNY (The Land of Turquoise, Pet Rock); and Teatro Latea (My Love Was Stolen By A Con Man!).
Additionally, during COVID, Kelsey & her Co-Creator Elisa Tarquinio made a virtual new works writing room, The Zoom Zoom Room. This allowed for emerging artists all over the world to collaborate when collaboration seemed impossible, sharing their talents with each other as a way to connect, heal, and grow.
She also directed “Bugs” by Alex Moon, at Playwrights Horizons for the 48th Annual Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival, which went on to win and be published in Concord Theatrical’s most recent compendium of plays from the festival.

IRELAND: HystERia Téatar (Ghost Party) (International Debut).
She continued her work with HystERia Téatar when she directed “The Northside Raven” by Ash Behrend. She also worked as an Assistant Director for the Galway Theatre Festival (Yaqui & Béal); and was a Script Coordinator for Moonfish Theatre Ensemble’s new work, “The Crow’s Way”, which was performed in 2023 at The Dublin Fringe Festival and The Baboro International Arts Festival for Children.

She is now working in both the US and Scotland, and most recently had her play ‘Worm Teeth’ performed by Melancholics Anonymous in Minnesota in May 2026!
